25 years ago a nationwide strike of 700,000 CWA workers and Bell Telephone employees affected thousands of families and children across the country.
To revisit and commemmorate this event, a St. Louis author who lived through it with her own family is searching for others who experienced the strike, to interview them for a non-fiction book recounting the memories of that hardship and how it affected their perspectives later in life. Would like to interview in person, by email or by phone those parents or adult children who lived through this experience.
Ideal interviewees for this historical account would include Bell Telephone and CWA employees at that time, and their children who would have been born between 1965 and 1975. We are now between the ages of 33 and 43, many of us with children of our own. We would have been between 8 and 18 at the time of the strike. The memories of these children affected by the strike are of special interest.
